Here's a bit about me

After 10 years in the brewing and hospitality industries, I channeled my passion and skill for creating and building things into the world of web and software development. My initial interest in blockchain technology and digital assets introduced me to coding, and within weeks I was hooked and haven't stopped since.

I have 2 years of professional development experience building full stack web apps, APIs, and modernizing legacy software in Agile environments with companies large and small. I love learning new languages and frameworks and am currently proficient in 4 different languages.

I'm comfortable wearing many different hats and know how to communicate clearly with remote teams, allowing me to contribute to a dev team immediately. I have a Bachelors degree, have completed a web development bootcamp and am currently pursueing a Masters in Computer Science at Georgia Tech University.

My Side Projects

A simple app built with React that connects with the Google Books API. You can search for books by author or title and click to see a preview of the book. There is also a colorful graph at the bottom of the page that displays the different book genres being searched.

Express/Node.js

This backend server was built with Node, Express and pSQL. It is hosted on Heroku and serves requests from my News app.

AirBnb for Pets

This React Native app is modeled after AirBnb, it uses Passport.js for user authentication and allows users to post listings, leave reviews and create a profile. The backend database was built with mongoDB.

A news app built with React that is modeled after Reddit that connects with an API of different articles. You can sort and filter the articles by different criteria as well as leave a comment. You can up or down vote articles and comments. The backend with built with Node and Express.
